An anti-theft device for a motor vehicle includes an electromagnetic valve (1) which is screwed into a housing (2) and controls fuel flow along a pair of conduits (8, 9). A spring loaded closure device (15) is provided in a hole (12) in the housing and is held by a pin (18) in an open position. If the valve (1) is unscrewed the pin (18) is released and the closure device moves to the closed position in which it closes one of the conduits.
