PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the degree of the driver's understanding the voice information in accordance with the size of the driving load imposed. SOLUTION: Access from a transmitter/receiver 4 to a center device 3 and vice versa is generated by depressing a center connection button 16 on a display/ operation panel 14, and the information of the specified item is given from a database 31, and its code data is stored in a memory 5. The traveling situation is sensed by a speed sensor 9, direction indicator location sensor 10, steering sensor 11, wiper switch 12, and lighting switch 13. A transmitter device 1 receives electric waves from artificial satellites S1-S4, and on the basis of thereof a CPU 6 determines the current position of the vehicle concerned, and the road condition is judged using road map information stored in a CD-ROM 2. The CPU 6 judges the size of the driving load on the basis of the traveling situation and the road condition and controls a voice synthesizer 7 so that the announcing speed of letter information to be voice output becomes slower with greater size of the load and also the pause duration furnished at each comma/period becomes longer, and thereby the degree of the driver's understanding the applicable pieces of information is heightened. |
