PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a button type alkaline battery which suppresses generation of gas from a negative electrode can to have a good self discharge characteristic. SOLUTION: A negative electrode can with Cu serving as an internal surface is worked to be molded by a metal mold with at least a part into contact with a Cu surface made of ceramics (process 1). Further, preferably, a super hard alloy in a part into contact with the Cu surface of a material and a metal mold applying coating of ceramics to steel are used, the negative electrode can is worked (process 2 to 4). Many kinds of ceramics usable in coating are provided, but zirconium oxide, silicon boride, silicon nitride, or carbon of diamond similar structure are particularly desired. |
