PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect faults with reliability when the display of an image sent from a transmitter side of a multimedia communication terminal equipment is stopped. SOLUTION: A multimedia communication terminal equipment 22 is provided with a decode counter 49 which is counted up every time a video data decoding section decodes one video image, that is, one picture, and a CPU 41 uses a software counter to monitor the count at a time interval. When the two counts different timewise are equal and all three counts different timewise are equal and the similar result is obtained even when a check time is changed, it is reported to a host device as occurrence of a fault in a display device side and reported to the user to allow the user to take countermeasure. |
