PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude a card out of regular specification by speedily judging and confirming the destruction of magnetic records through series of card working processes. SOLUTION: Concerning the illegal card excluding magnetic card reader, a card is pulled in from a card inserting port and after data are read by a magnetic head 3, the magnetic recording part of unwanted data is destroyed by a magnetic recording part destroying device. Namely, the unwanted magnetic recording part is destroyed by a thermal head 2 corresponding to the instruction of a destruction instructing circuit 5. Then, the destroyed part is read by the magnetic head 3 again and the read data are investigated. At such a time, when the read data get out of a set value or pattern previously set by the test result, the destruction is not normally completed so that the used card is discriminated as the illegal card and can be excluded. Thus, used unwanted data are not remained and the forgery of the regular card can be easily prevented. |
