PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a speech channel through which a complete handfree speech is made with excellent quality at all times even when an aged person is resident anywhere in a predetermined comparatively wide area in the case of building up a hot line used to supervise the aged person between a supervisor's house and the aged person's house. SOLUTION: A plurality of telephone sets consisting of a master set 3A and a plurality of slave sets 3B each provided with a speaker and a microphone are arranged in an area covering an aged person's house comparatively wide being a living space of the aged person distributingly so that a voice uttered by the aged person reaches at least any of the telephone sets even when the aged person is resident anywhere in the living space. Voiced levels from the aged person picked up by the microphones of a plurality of the telephone sets arranged as above are compared and a telephone set with the highest level is selected and connected to a telephone set 1 of the supervisor's house.
