The invention relates to a wheelchair, consisting of a frame (1), a seat unit (3) borne by the frame (1) and a mechanism (9) for adjusting the seat in various angular positions in relation to the frame (1). According to the invention, during the swinging up of the seat unit (3) the adjustment mechanism (6, 7, 8) also brings about a forwards movement of the same and, during the swinging down of the seat unit (3), also brings about a rearwards movement of the same. A wheelchair according to the invention thus ensures that the backward displacement of the centre of gravity of a person in the wheelchair, which displacement is caused by the swinging up of the seat unit (3), is compensated by a corresponding forwards movement of the seat unit (3). <IMAGE> |
