PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily make a repair by a user and greatly lower the costs for maintenance services, etc., by performing switching between a flash memory and a backup ROM. SOLUTION: If a BIOS program in the flash memory 10 is destroyed, an operator sets a selector 30 so that the backup ROM 20 is selected. A CPU 40 sends a memory read signal out. The memory read signal reaches the backup ROM GO through the selector 30. Then the CPU 40 reads a backup BIOS program out of the backup ROM 20 through a bus 50 and executes it. The CPU 40 which has started with the backup BIOS program sends a memory write signal out to the flash memory 10 and writes the read BIOS program to the flash memory 10 through the bus 50. Consequently, the BIOS of the flash memory 10 is repaired. |
