<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow low-power forming, provide an electron emission section as a uniform electron source, and stably display a high-quality image by drawing a conductive film constituting an electron emitting element and having the electron emission section with Ni or Ni and a Ni oxide into a labyrinth diagram shape. SOLUTION: Quartz glass, glass reduced with the impurity content such as Na, blue plate glass, or a ceramic such as alumina is used as the material of a substrate 1. A general conductor material is used as the material of opposite electrode elements 2, 3. A conductive film 4 is made of Ni or Ni and a Ni oxide. When the conductive film 4 is made of a mixture of Ni and the Ni oxide, it is made of metal Ni and its surface oxidation zone and the Ni oxide and its surface reduction Ni zone.
