<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram color filter system constituted so that color purity and color reproducibility are made excellent, illumination light can be almost vertically made incident on a filter surface and the utilizing efficiency of the illumination light is drastically enhanced. SOLUTION: A transmission type diffraction grating 30 spectroscopically arranged so as to reduce the separation angles of red component and blue component relative to green component, each component spectrally split by a hologram color filter 5 arranged in the optical path of white light 3 made incident on the filter 5. The filter 5 is constituted of an array of element condensing holograms 5' so that the light 3 made incident by a prescribed angle to the normal to the hologram recording surface is spectrally split by dispersing the wavelength thereof in a direction almost along the hologram recording surface by the respective holograms 5'. Thus, the diffraction efficiency of the respective color components by the filter 5 becomes almost identical and the color purity and the color reproducibility of display are made excellent.</p> |
