The heat-sealing unit has a plurality of elongated heating elements (11) which are arranged parallel at a distance from one another on a convexly curved carrier (12). Said heating elements form a slideway for a continuous set of business forms consisting of at least two layers (14, 15) and serve for the localised heating of hot-melt adhesive arranged between the layers. Downstream of the heating elements there is arranged a pressing device (24, 25) which brings the heated layers into intimate contact with one another. By means of the direct contact between the set of forms and the heating elements and the localised heating, the heating energy can be kept small, it being possible at the same time to prevent overheating of the set of forms. <IMAGE> |
