PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the burden on the remaining staff in charge as light as possible and keep the total process end scheduled time by calculating the number of members in charge of postprocessing after process scheduled time and then updating definition information to newly given scheduled process time. SOLUTION: A server 101 manages the document circulation system and stores circulation route and document data to be circulated. A circulation control/process time management part 102 of the document circulation system is a central function which manages the system. A circulation route/process scheduled time storage table 103 is a table containing the circulation route and scheduled process time. A scheduled process time automatic adjusting function 104 is controlled by a scheduled process time adjusting method. A client 105 is a client which performs processing by the document circulation system and consists of a client receiving buffer 106 for receiving a circulated document and a client transmitting buffer 107 which circulates a processed document to a next member in charge.
