PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition which can give tires improved in wet grip performances without substantial detriment to rolling resistance by mixing a diene rubber with a specified copolymer resin. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by mixing a diene rubber with a copolymer resin comprising a 5 C fraction obtained from the thermocracking of naphtha and styrene or a vinyltoluene. One hundred pts.wt. diene rubber is mixed with 5-60 pts.wt. copolymer resin. It is desirable that the diene rubber used is a natural rubber, a butadiene rubber, a styrene/butadiene copolymer rubber or the like. The vinyltoluene used is desirablyα-mcthylstyrene.
