PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely connect a valve stem to a driving shaft. SOLUTION: This shaft connecting device is so constituted that a key 9 is fitted into key ways 6 and 7 formed on the outer circumferential face of a valve stem 3 and a driving shaft 4 which are concentrically arranged, a coupling 5 is externally fitted with the valve stem 3 and the driving shaft 4, a key way 8 formed on the inner circumferential face of the coupling 5 is fitted into the key 9 so that the valve stem 3 is integrally connected with the driving shaft 4. In this case, a tapered inclination toward the centers of the valve stem 3 and the driving shaft 4 is formed on the side of an inner key part 9a to be fitted into the key ways 6 and 7 of the key 9, a tapered inclination toward the outside of the coupling is formed on the side of an outer key part 9b to be fitted into the key way 8 of the key 9, and a pair of flanges 5b and 5c projected with the key way 8 between them are fastened to the coupling 5 with a bolt nut 10. |
