<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously satisfy a sp. gr., strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, mechanical characteristics, etc., by forming a golf club head of an amorphous metal having a prescribed plate thickness. SOLUTION: The golf club head 1 is at least partly composed of the amorphous metal, i.e., Zr-Ni-Ti-Cu-Be alloy, having >=1mm plate thickness. The entire part of the golf club head 1 may be formed of the amorphous metal as well. A face part 2 is preferably formed of the amorphous metal in the case where the amorphous metal is used for the some part alone. The upper limit value of the plate thickness of the golf club head 1 is properly settable according to the Young's modulus and yield strength of the amorphous metal to be used. For instance, the upper limit value is settable to about 3mm or less. As a result, the simultaneous satisfaction of various kinds of requirements for the golf club head 1 is made possible.</p> |
