<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply avoid collision of transmission cells on an ATM channel and to make use of cells efficient by sending an idle cell formed with routing information set to a GFC(general flow control) field of an ATM standard cell onto the ATM channel and allowing each communication equipment to detect a transmission timing of its own equipment according to the routing information indicated in the GFC field and to send cells. SOLUTION: A routing information transmission section 4 and a cell transmission timing detection section 5 are provided on a communication equipment 1. A cell control section 6 sends cells onto an ATM channel in a detected timing and receives cells on the ATM channel. A communication signal processing section 7 processes information in each cell. A cell transmission timing detection section 8 of the communication equipment 2 detects a timing when its own cell is sent to the ATM channel based on the routing information. A cell control section 9 sends cells onto the ATM channel in a timing detected by the cell transmission timing detection section 8 and receives the cells on the ATM channel. A communication signal processing section 10 processes the information in each cell.</p> |
