PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a creeping-discharge type discharging element, strong for electric discharge, long in life and suitable for mass production by constructing a discharging electrode using a thick conductive membrane mainly composed of conductive powder and a specific glass. SOLUTION: This creeping-discharge type discharging element has a discharging electrode on one side and a dielectric electrode on the other side of an insulating substrate, and at least the discharging electrode consists of a thick conductive membrane mainly composed of conductive powder and lead-free glass. Optionally, an insulating protection layer of lead-free glass is applied on each of the discharging electrode and the dielectric electrode. Further, an oxide filler may be compounded in the insulating protection layer for strengthening. The creeping-discharge type discharging element can be obtained by applying a paste mainly composed of conductive powder and lead-free glass in shapes of a discharging electrode on one side and a dielectric electrode on the other side of an insulating substrate, respectively and baking the resultant substrate. |
