PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce gear shifting shock caused by inertial torque in a vehicle driving device in which an engine, a motor-generator and an automatic transmission are combined. SOLUTION: A vehicle driving device is provided with an engine 1, a stepped automatic transmission 3 having multiple speed shifting steps by engagement or release of friction engaging element and a motor-generator 4. A controlling device 5 comprises a speed shifting controlling means which, from the start to the end of speed shifting of the transmission 3, performs a torque control of letting the motor-generator 4 absorb an inertial torque generated by the change of inputted revolutions involved by the engagement or release of the friction engaging element and transmitted from the transmission 3 to wheels 9. |
