PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reuse scum of coating by a simple process and an installation by a method wherein after discharged scum of coating is roasted, a phosphate compd. and an alkali earth metal are mixed therewith to make a slurry and it is molded and calcined. SOLUTION: When scum of coating contg. water discharged during coating operation is recovered and at first, it is roasted to evaporate water, it contains TiO2 , Al2 O3 , Fe2 O3 , etc., and is enlarged by aggregation and calcination to become porous. Then, phosphate compd. such as metaphosphate compd. and oxides of Mg, ca, etc., carbonates or alkali earth metals are mixed therewith to make a slurry. After a molded body is obtd. by molding this slurry, this molded body is calcined in nitrogen atmosphere. As the result, a carbide, nitride or carbonitride calcined body being a high strength lightweight structural material is obtd. and it can be reused as such applications as water-permeable tiles and water-permeable blocks. |
