The vehicle front seat is constructed as a seat cushion (2), which is moveable within a frame (3), and a seat back (4), which presents an upper part (17), which carries a head rest (5), which is adjustable for height by a control (6). This acts to drive the head rest to its lowest position, as the seat is moved into its most forward position and vice versa. The control consists of return springs (28 & 29), which drive the head rest towards its primary position. Cables (26 & 27) are attached to the seat back frame, upper cross beam, at points (30 & 32) and then pass round at least two pulleys (21-25) to pull the head rest, against the spring action, towards the secondary position, as the seat is moved towards its secondary position
