Rotational locking of shaft

The rotational lock for a shaft (5) comprises a ring (7) which can slide axially between an internally ribbed bearing (6) and the fluted shaft. The shaft has a set of external ribs (1) which engage a set of internal ribs (2) on the ring. The bearing (6) has a set of internal ribs (3) which engage a set of external ribs (4) on the ring. The ring is slid axially by a pivoting handle (10). In the locked position all the ring sets are engaged. In the unlocked position the ribs of one assembly are disengaged. The sets of engaging ribs in each assembly have a peripheral interruption (8,9) which allows the passage of the set of ribs of the other assembly.
