The invention discloses a system and method for coupling two mutually mobile assemblies, in particular in submarine installations, comprising means (8, 14, 15) for displacing one of the ends (16) from a first position towards a second position for connecting the ends of the said assemblies, one of the assemblies (2) being fixed at least during the connecting operation, means for locking (35) the said ends and sealing means (33) between the said ends, the said locking and sealing means constituting the connecting means. It is characterised in that it further comprises a receptacle (4) secured to the said fixed end (51) and comprising an opening entrance (20) for the mobile end (16), and an interface linking element (5) floatingly set in the said receptacle and provided with a central rotation orifice (55, 65) and guiding spans (62, 69) for mutually and gradually guiding the said ends of the pipelines.
