A procedure for making a halogen lamp has the bulb (1) sealed by a neck (7) and on the side facing away from the neck is a dome (4). Going through the neck is a gastight frame (8) containing two leads joined to the filament in the bulb. The steps are as follows (a) a bulb tube, a pumping tube and the frame are prepared; (b) one end of the bulb tube is closed and rounded to form a dome; (c) the bulb tube is shaped for the final bulb and contains a bulge, after which the bulb is formed by blowing an inert gas through the still-open second end of the bulb tube.
