The valve has a valve member 11 which is axially guided in a bore 9 of a valve body 1. The combustion chamber end of the valve element 11 has at least two injection apertures (33, fig.2) which are superimposed in the axial direction of the valve member 11 and are connected via supply ducts (29) with a pressure.chamber 17 formed between the valve member 11 and the bore 9. The outlet openings (33) are uncovered successively by the wall of the bore 9 during the outwardly directed opening stroke of the valve member 11. The abutment defining the maximum opening stroke of the valve member 11 is adjustable in its position by two inclined bearing surfaces 51, 53 of respective wedge-shaped adjustment discs 47,55. The adjustment discs 47,55 are displaceable relative to one another radially to the valve member 11 by fluid pressure in a pressure chamber 65 acting on a rubber sleeve 61.
