The lamp holder can lock onto the neck (311) of a drinks can or jam jar. The holder can include a collar (5) of variable circumference to allow fitting to different diameter container necks. The holder can have grippers (205) to engage the neck of the container, with all the grippers in the same plane. The grippers can be formed of two spring metal arms engaging the neck of the container. The locking grippers can be polygonal in shape. The gripper can have a plate (1) with a recess (6) in which the gripper wire can engage.
