The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of brush joints consisting of the following steps: stacking of bristles in an accommodating shaft so that the bristles are situated in part close to location for at least one brush face; movement of shaft accommodating bristles in synchronization with stacking of bristles relative to insertion point of bristles in accommodating shaft so that the surface position of bristles stacked in accommodating shaft remains at least substantially constant; fastening of bristles on at least one bristle face in accommodating shaft, and withdrawal of at least one brush face with bristles fastened thereon from the accommodating shaft. The invention also relates to a device for the production of brush seals enabling the above-mentioned method to be carried out.
