A procedure for using thermal energy contained in a liquid or gaseous primary energy carrier, released by combustion, uses a heat-power coupling. The energy component converted into mechanical energy by the combustion process in a thermal machine (1) is itself converted by a generator into electricity. The equivalent of heat not converted into mechanical energy by the combustion is extracted from the media, cold water, lubricating oil, charging air and the air in the chamber. The mechanical equivalent of heat caused by friction in the generator and the electrical equivalent of heat caused by hysteresis losses, as well as the radiation heat contained in the air of the chamber surrounding the power station comprising the thermal machine and the generator.
