<p>A collapsible pushchair comprising a chassis (1) which is prefer ably moulded in one-piece from a rigid plastics material. A pair of primary wheels (6) are rotatably mounted on the chassis (1). A handle (30) is retractable into the chassis (1) or into a foldable seat hanger (25, 50) fitted hereto. The seat hanger supports a hammock type seat (20) suspended therefrom whose bottom edge is attached at (21) to the chassis (1). The seat hanger (25, 50) folds into the chassis (1) for storage purposes. A pair of secondary wheels (8) are rotatably mounted on an axle (9), itself mounted at the rear of a platform (13) hingedly attached to the chassis (1). The platform (13) comprises two sections (13a, 13b) hingedly joined at (14). A pair of stays (16) are pivotally attached between the secondary wheels (8) and the chassis (1) and the arrangement is such that the secondary wheels (8) can be stowed in the chassis (1) adjacent the primary wheels (6) so that the pushchair can be used as a two-wheeled pushchair when the secondary wheels (8) are stowed in the chassis (1).</p> |
