The invention relates to the use of betaine for improving the effect of herbicides. The invention also relates to a combination that is useful in controlling weeds, and that apart from herbicide comprises betaine and optionally other conventional adjuvants and additives. Further, the invention relates to a method of controlling weeds by the use of herbicide and betaine.
