Optical testing system for object surface composition using illumination system

The optical testing system includes an illumination system and a video camera. There is an associated computer containing. an evaluation system, in which a desired image or a desired grey image value of the previously selected surfaces of object are stored, and which are compared with the image taken by the camera. A discard signal is generated if the deviation between the actual and desired value is too large. The illumination system has white light lamps (24), which are continuously on. The diffuser dome (14) is conical in shape. The objective lens (12) of the camera (10) is arranged directly above the top opening of the diffuser dome (14). The diameter of the opening corresponds approximately to the diameter of the objective lens. A zoom objective lens is provided for the camera.
