<p>An apparatus for producing elements made from a length of adhesive tape including an intermediate portion neutralized by applying a flexible non-adhesive strip. The apparatus includes a frame (5), a support device (6) for a reel (7) of adhesive tape (2), a hopper (8) for holding a stack of neutralizing strips (3), a pivotable arm (9) and a U-shaped member (46). The arm (9) supports rollers (18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 39) for guiding and reversing the direction of the adhesive tape (2), whereby said tape passes through the hopper (8), a shoe (26) for engaging and feeding the neutralizing strips (3), and cutting means (30, 31). The U-shaped member (46) supports counter-pressure means (47) and may be actuated by manually exerting a pulling force on the tape (2) so that it moves the pivotable arm (9) and collects a fresh strip (3) from the hopper (8) then attaches it to the adhesive tape (2). The apparatus is useful for making adhesive carrying handles.</p> |
