Production of paraffin from (waste) plastic

Production of paraffin having a solidification point of 60-70 deg C by thermal degradation of polyolefinic plastics, or plastic waste comprises injecting the polyolefinic plastic into a heated cracking tube and pre-cracked at 380-400 deg C, and then further decomposed at 400-420 deg C and 2-70 mbar pressure with distillation into hydrocarbons containing 30 wt.% 20-40 C paraffins.
