Manufacturing decorated ceramic tiles comprises: (i) applying a decal to the surface of a powdered or agglomerated ceramic raw material in a tile-forming die; (ii) pressing the assembly to form an unfired tile having a decorative pattern on its surface; and (iii) removing the tile from the die and firing it.
