Apparatus 10 for navigation is provided. The apparatus 10 comprises a first LCD screen 18 for displaying a map, means defining a pointable cursor 30 on the map and means such as a track ball 38 or touch pads 24, 26, 28 enabling a user to control the movement and angle of the cursor 30. The apparatus 10 further includes means for sensing the location and angle of the cursor 30 on the displayed map and means for accessing a CD ROM to retrieve and display a view on a second LCD screen 20 dependent on the sensed location and angle of the cursor 30, the view on the second screen 20 corresponding to the view seen by a person standing at the place on the map looking in the direction indicated by the cursor 20. |
