摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make each malfunction detecting means so as to be normally operated by preventing other detecting means from operating at a time when either detecting means among three catalyst deterioration, evaporated fuel purge system and fuel supply system malfunction detecting means is operated. CONSTITUTION:As for deterioration detection of a three way catalyst and malfunction of an evaporated fuel purge system, since a driving state in an engine for performing them normally differs each, their simultaneous execution is impossible or an accurate detection is not expected otherwise. Accordingly, during one travel, whether a purge system monitor is once performed or not is judged (S51), when it is so judged that the purge system monitor is performed, skipping to S53, and whether a catalytic monitor is in execution or not is judged (S53). When the purge system monitor is not yet performed once, advancing to S52, whether it is in the purge system monitor or not is judged. If it is during the monitor, the execution of other monitors is made to be unallowed. Likewise, if the catalytic monitor is in performance with the S53, only the catalytic monitor is allowed to be done after skipping to S58.</p>
