PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive tape in high productivity, which comprises a thermoplastic resin film coated with an adhesive on its smooth film surface, shows excellent hand-tearing properties and has stabilized adhesion without inclusion of bubbles between the substrate film and the adhesive layer. SOLUTION: A thermoplastic resin film has one smooth surface 3 and the other embossed surface 2 and a polyethylene layer 4 with a thickness of 8-80μm is laminated on the embossed surface 2, while an adhesive layer 6 is laminated on the smooth surface 3. The thermoplastic resin film is made of, for example, a polyethylene resin with a melt index of about 2-10g/10min and preferably embossed by allowing the film to pass through as the film is pressed to the emboss roll with a nip pressure.
