PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high retrieval ability for a customer by enabling retrieval based on a story concerning the retrieval of on-line service in which there are a plurality of title publishers. SOLUTION: Publishers 102-106 perform issue toward a data center by performing the definition of inquiry while using a search object editor for the retrieval based on story characteristics. The information retrieval(IR) server of the data center purses the search object and indexes it. The story characteristics are composed of a topic, place, figure, creator, the date of case and priority or the like, for example. When customers 160-164 perform browsing while using title viewers, search is requested to the customers based on the definition of inquiry each time the title is dynamically changed. Otherwise, the customer starts search over all the stories of the title by using a Find dialog. |
