PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing roller with which electric power consumption is reduced and high-quality images are obtainable with good durability by expediting the start time of initial copying and making the set temp. of a hot roller lower than heretofore without the occurrence of an offset or winding on the hot roller at the time of fixing. SOLUTION: The offset is suppressed and the durability is improved by incorporating fluoropolymer particles P into a release layer 11, specifying the grain size of these fluoropolymer particles to <=1μm, specifying the film thickness of the surface coating layer 11 of the fixing roller to <=20μm, executing the application of this surface coating layer 11 by a wet process and specifying the dimensions of the surface fractal Q of the surface coating layer 11 to 2 to 3. The rising time is shortened by forming the release layer as a thin film. Since the release layer formed as the thin film has high thermal efficiency, the low setting of the roller surface temp. is made possible and the enhancement of the energy efficiency is made possible. |
