As the opening process of the bundle, a method having the steps of introducing continuous fiber bundle from the direction substantially perpendicular to gas stream into the stream flowing at a mean flowing velocity of 10 to 50m/sec, and passing while giving a slack of 1 to 50mm per the length of 10mm along the passing direction is preferably adopted.
