COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USED FOR IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the system to simply inquire of an electronic device at a controlled side about whether or not the electronic device has provision for a prescribed command in a short time without causing the electronic device at the controlled side to make undesired processing. SOLUTION: A computer 13 sends a NOTIFY command to a camcorder 12. When the camcorder 12 has provision for the NOTIFY command and starts the execution of the NOTIFY command, the camcorder 12 returns an INTERIM response to the computer 13 and is in standby state to return a CHANGED RESPONSE. The computer 13 discriminates it that the camcorder 12 has provision for the NOTIFY command by the reply of the INTERIM response from the camcorder 12 to attain the object of inquiry. When the computer 13 receives an INTERIM response, the computer 13 sends a NOTIFY (CANCEL) command TO CANCEL THE NOTIFY command immediately to allow the camcorder 12 to stop the execution of the NOTIFY command.
