Procedure for the preparation of an extract as a base for obtaining medicaments for the treatment of human ailments of viral origin, of the type of the preparations, syrups, pills, tablets, powder, sweets and the like, used as medicaments for the treatment of human diseases of viral origin, which consists of a phase involving the obtaining of a homogeneous mixture of elderberries, bark from elder branches and elder leaves, a phase involving the chopping up of the ligneous material in said mixture, a phase involving the addition of said mixture to boiling water, a phase involving the cooking of the mixture, and a phase involving the elimination of solids from the compound so obtained, as well as the medicaments obtained from said extract.
