PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position a sound image with precision without enlarging a finite period impulse response(FIR) filter by permitting the FIR filter to execute an arithmetic operation for one of output signals from frequency dividing parts so as to execute positioning at a prescribed position outside of the head of a listener. SOLUTION: A headphone reproducing device is provided with the first and the second FIR filters 9 and 10 executing FIR filtering for a low-band component from the first frequency dividing part 3 and the third and fourth FIR filters 11 and 12 excuting FIR filtering for the low-band component from the second frequency dividing part 4. Then, the frequency dividing parts 3 and 4 divide an acoustic signal into the two signals of the high component and the low component. Moreover, the FIR filters 9-12 executes the arithmetic operation (FIR filtering) for the low-band component signal so as to permit the sound image to be positioned at the prescribed position outside of the head of the listener 15. Therefore, the sound image is positioned well at the prescribed position even when the frequency band of the acoustic signal to be reproduced is widened.
