FINISHING AGENT FOR FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber-finishing agent which can be uniformly applied to the fiber to be treated without scum induction and gives the fiber a high- grade fiber-bundling property and a proper lubricity by using a polyester prepared by reaction of a polycarboxylic acid and a carboxyl group-bearing polyhydric alcohol. SOLUTION: This fiber-finishing agent contains a polyester which is prepared by reaction of two or more polycarboxylic acids, for example, dodecenylsuccinic with a polyhydric alcohol bearing one or more carboxyl groups, for example, dimethylol-propanoic acid and/or another polyester prepared by modifying the polyester with lauric acid or the like. The objective finishing oil contains the polyester in an amount of 3-50wt.% based on the whole solid weight and can increase the efficiency of the high speed weaving process or the direct spin-draw- texturing process.
