<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a running method in which a prescribed high running speed is ensured when an empty electric vehicle is run on a flat road or the like by a method wherein a driving torque at a prescribed value or higher is required, the driving force of high-torque driving wheels is made effective and, when the driving torque is not required, the driving force of the high-torque driving wheels is made invalid so that the vehicle can be run by the driving force of only low-torque driving wheels. SOLUTION: A driving motive force from a motor 30 is transmitted, via an electromagnetic clutch 32, to a central differential gear 34 in the right and left directions, and it is distributed to right and left axles 36 from the differential gear 34 so as to be transmitted to high-torque driving wheels 22. Then, a loaded electric vehicle is started on a steep slope, the electromagnetic clutch 32 is engaged, and the rotating motive force from the motor 30 is transmitted to the driving wheels 22. In addition, when an empty electric vehicle is run at high speed on a flat road, the driving motive force from the motor 30 is transmitted, without the intermediary of the electromagnetic clutch 32, to a central differential gear 38 in the right and left directions, and it is distributed to the right and left axles 36 from the differential gear 38 so as to be transmitted to low-torque driving wheels 24.</p> |
