<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce track thinning at the time of consecutive recording of an LP(long pitch) mode after the LP mode in a magnetic recording/reproducing device adopting a shared head system between an SP(short pitch) mode of a large track pitch and the LP mode of a narrow track pitch. SOLUTION: A regenerative level S1 of a first pilot signal f1 at the SP mode time is stored in a first buffer 14a, and the regenerative level S2 of a second pilot signal f2 is stored in a second buffer 14b. Further, the regenerative level S3 of the first pilot signal f1 at the LP mode time is stored in a third buffer 14c, and the regenerative level of the second pilot signal f2 is stored in a fourth buffer 14d. Then, SS-01 =(S3-S1)+(S4-S2) operated by an offset operation means 15 is stored in a memory 16 permanently, and a track shifting offset signal SS-01 read out from the memory 16 in a short play at the time of consecutive recording is added to a tracking error signalΔS.</p> |
