<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a tape device of helical scanning system to be accurately run. SOLUTION: The positional variation in the breadthwise direction f tape is detected, for instance, in such a manner that end edges at the upper and lower sides of a control track 11 of the VHS tape are read by magnetic heads 12, 13. By calculating the detected signal, a correction signal is sent to a tape position adjusting mechanism 20 from an arithmetic part 16. The tape position adjusting mechanism 20 consists of pins, for instance, abutted against the magnetic tape plane unevenly distributedly by the tilting and arranged at certain internals from the magnetic tape plane, thereby the positional variation in the width direction of tape is corrected without pressing the tape edges.</p> |
