PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding surface fastener having an engaging element made of a thermoplastic resin molded by continuous molding with a fine dimension and having a sufficient engaging force and rich durability ensuring the engagement with a fine loop piece. SOLUTION: An engaging element has a single erect part 21 and engaging heads 23 bent from the upper end of the erect part 21 through respective neck parts 22 in the opposite directions to each other to almost straight extend. The respective engaging heads 23 are formed on the tops 23a with bulging parts 23a' bulging nearly horizontally in the directions orthogonal to the extending direction of the head part 22, while the upper surfaces of the respective tops 23a are made flat and the thickness of each engaging head 22 in the vertical direction is gradually reduced from the proximal end toward the tip of the each engaging head 22.
