PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce tone color creating cost and to achieve the compatibility among tone color products by using common values as the tone color parameters given to the processing device. SOLUTION: This synthesizer is equipped with a tone generating section 107 which has a small scale constitution. Tone color parameters are then given to the section 107. For the case of a small scale constitution, the synthesizer switches first and second modes in accordance with the mode switching operation of a setting/displaying section 106. The music sound synthesis algorithms, which are to be executed, are switched by the mode switching. Note that even for a small scale constitution, the tone color parameters prepared for every tone color are stored in a ROM 102 with the memory map which is same as the tone color parameter sets for a large scale constitution. Since these parameters are the parameters which fundamentally rule the tone colors, these parameters are commonly used regardless of the scales and the modes of the device. |
