PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable recognition of a component of a mounting apparatus having a rotary head including a plurality of nozzles by executing again recognition of component recognition process without each process for position compensation, loading of a component, abolition and supply, while holding an electronic component attracted by an attraction nozzle when an error is generated during component recognition. SOLUTION: A recognition station picks up the image of an electronic component attracted by a loading nozzle to execute an component recognition process for transferring a component to a recognition controller. If an error is generated during the component recognition process, the picket up image data is recognized by the recognition controller and re-recognition process is executed, based on the branching, depending on the result of the recognition process. In this case, the rotary head makes a turn up to the stop position E from the stop position F passing the stop position L and stop position A.
