A memory back-up device is provided to enhance expandability of the main memory of computer system by configuring a memory card in the form of a standard floppy disk. The memory card of diskette form comprises a data transmission/reception part for sending/receiving data through read/write heads of the floppy disk drive; a rotation- synchronization detection part for generating power supply by the rotating force of the memory card while detecting the rotation direction and angle; a controller in response to output signals of the rotation- synchronization detection part and the data transmission/reception part to permit storage of the transmitted data in a memory part via bi-directional memory bus and allow transmission of the stored data of the memory part to the data transmission/reception part.
